Johnnie McEwen's Story
Hello There! It has been a few years since I have seen most of you and I hope the friends I made while at CCHS are all well.
My favorite memories of our time together would be found in Mrs. Head's french class..... also enjoying the ball games, especailly football and being a cheer leader my senior year. Oh what fun!
Not knowing that the best laid plans of mice and men/women sometimes go astray, I thought I had my life planned out to a "T." However sometimes new things lay in store for us. I attended nursing school and worked as a nurse for several years. That in it's self was a rewarding time in my life.
Later I became involved in the history of the not so civil "Civil War." Studying that war and the reasons for it have become the passion of my life and walking the battlefields where my ancestors once fought is a very special thing to me. Learning about them has given me much insight into who and where I came from and given me a greater respect for them. It seems to me that if we do not know where we came from, ...Expand for more
we will have no idea where we are going.
As to my life now; I am married with one child and one grand child who is still my "little man" even though he turned 13 yrs. old this year. My daughter and her husband are very special people in my life and I see them as often as possible.
I also enjoy camping trips, roughing it but I will escape to the R.V. if it is a must! :) I take my dogs with me at times but it is hard to include them all as we have adopted five of them. Always having been a dog lover they seem to have a way of finding me if they have been abandoned. Perhaps they know I do not have the heart to turn them away..... so they are a big part of my life as well.
We do travel a bit, especially to historical places but always come home to Alabama. This state will always be home to me for my roots are here and I find they run deep.
As I said before, I hope all of you are well and blessed by our maker...... after all, that is the most imporntant thing in our/ my life. I hope to see some of you soon. Take care.
